Opis
German High Command recognised the need for a specialised vehicle capable of engaging enemy tanks with a weapon of greater penetrating power than the 3.7cm PaK36 anti-tank gun. The Germans mounted a Czech 4.7cm anti-tank gun on a Panzer I chassis with a gun shield to protect the crew. The result was the Panzerjager I.
The 15 cm sIG 33 (Sf) auf Panzerkampfwagen I Ausf B, sometimes referred to unofficially as the Sturmpanzer I Bison, mounts a 15cm infantry gun on a Panzer I hull to make it more mobile. The result was a devastating weapon for the short-range destruction of guns, entrenchments, and fortifications.
