Contains twelve Psiloi mercenary levy figures.
The psiloi were Ancient Greece’s lightest missile troops, drawn from the poorest citizens or from slaves like Sparta’s helots, and most often equipped with javelins. Over time, the term was extended to all irregular light units, often placed in front of a battle line to disorganise the enemy with their shooting - and because their deaths wouldn’t matter too much. These warriors could be easily recruited anywhere. Poverty and the undemanding training their role required guaranteed a constant flow of volunteers for the ever-growing needs of those fighting the greatest wars.
Supplied with separate weapons, shields and plastic bases.
