Anno Domini 1666

In Anno Domini 1666, players take command of teams - among which you will find the heroes of Sienkiewicz's, Musketeer Trilogy known from Alexandre Dumas's novels, but also others - teams consisting of 5 to 12 characters that try to complete the tasks set before them by the scenario.

This task may involve defeating an opponent in combat, but also recovering a letter, escorting a hostage, or conducting a chase. The forceful solutions familiar from most games of this type aren't always the optimal solution. Often, the immense strength of Longinus Podbipięta and Mr. Wołodyjowski's extraordinary fencing skills will be far less useful than Mr. Zagłoba's tricks and sharp tongue. Depending on the scenario and the number of models used, a game can last from 30 to 120 minutes.

What makes Anno Domini 1666 unique?

  • Scenarios

The game features two types of scenarios. The first are adventure missions, where completing a task is paramount, and building a warband is incredibly simple. Take as many heroes and common characters as the scenario dictates and play!

The second type of scenario is a battle scenario, closer in concept to battle games. In these games, the main task is to complete one of three objectives, and each player will have a full selection of characters and will be able to fully customize their roster to suit their preferred playstyle.

  • Draft System

Before the game, you and your opponent will fight for your mercenaries and common characters. Nothing prevents the Order of Broken Cross from requesting El Capitan's aid. But the opponent might do it first! Similarly, an influential townsperson who could contribute to the cause can prove just as useful as a swordsman with a sabre!

  • Cards

Instead of dice, Anno uses dedicated decks of cards played from hand or drawn randomly from the deck. However, we don't rely solely on blind luck – it's possible to influence the outcome of the test! Some skills also allow us to manipulate our "hand" (including Mr. Zagloba's famous stratagems or Sigfried's tactical acumen).

  • Guard Mechanics

The game doesn't always last a set number of rounds, as in most tabletop games! The length of the game is determined by Guard Markers; the louder we are, the more gunfire we fire, or the more door-breaking we do, the faster the Vienna Guard will arrive!

  • Unique Factions

Anno Domini isn't just about Wołodyjowski's saber skills or Dartagnan's agility. This game offers many different factions to choose from:

Defenders of the Crown

Royal Musketeers

Order of the Broken Cross

Bohun's Rebels

Envoys of the High Porte

Veterans of Tercio

Viennese Mafia

Monster Hunters

Order of Solomon

You'll have the opportunity to read about each in their own categories! Immerse yourself in the dark world of Anno Domini 1666, where Good battles Evil!
