The Austrian infantry were characterised by their rigid discipline and resolve during the Napoleonic wars. Often let down by poor and unenergetic leadership, the men showed themselves to be brave and tenacious in battle. The Infantry Regiments had always relied on a steady advance to the drums to give the enemy a taste of cold steel - However, as the war progressed, more emphasis was placed on accurate shooting.

Austrian regiments were nororiously large - many numbering around 4,500 men, each distinguished by a huge variety of regimental dress colours. However, all wore a black leather helmet with black over yellow crest, arguably one of the most distinctive items of equipment worn by the Austrians during the Napoleonic wars.

This Boxed Set contains 56 miniatures: 48 rank and file, 2 drummers, 2 standard bearers, 2 officers and 2 mounted colonels - there are additional arms to allow some firing, loading and advancing positions to add a great deal of variety and flexibility to your units.
